Five Diet Fads That Do Work

Weight loss diet fads are a dime a dozen these days. Most of these diet fads do nothing in helping you along your weight loss path. A few fads really do work though. Here are five fads that are tested to work well.

1. Finding an exercise activity you really do like

You don’t like spending money on a gym membership and being tied to one place. This is understandable. Exercising is still very important to your weight loss lifestyle. Maybe it is time to sit down and find a physical hobby you really enjoy.

It might be easier to convince yourself to hike a mountain than sit on a stationary bike. The key is to find something that you enjoy doing. If you enjoy it, chances are you won’t find some excuse why you cannot do it.

2. Eating when you’re hungry

Every person is different when it comes to eating. Some people eat three meals a day and are just fine. Other people like to eat seven times a day. The goal here is to eat when your body is telling you it needs more go juice.

This tip comes with some caution though. Eat portions that are relevant to how often you are eating. Those who eat three times a day may consume larger meals than those munching seven times. Portion control is the key to successful weight loss eating.

3. Find like-minded people to hang out with

Statistics the world over shows that hanging out with like-minded people is key to your weight loss success. This group of people will become your support network. You might even find an exercise partner in this group. Find a good group of people who share your weight loss desires and watch how much easier it is to stay the course.

4. Cooking at home is not so hard

There is an ancient tradition that people used to partake in almost every day. This tradition is eating at home. Crazy as it may sound, eating at home can be a huge help to your weight loss goals. You buy good healthy food, you cook that food, and you enjoy that food. Stay away from the bag of chips though.

5. Weight loss the slow way

Shedding pounds is not something that happens rapidly or quickly. People often start a weight loss lifestyle and see big numbers when they start out. Then, when the numbers slow down, people get discouraged.

Dropping weight is something that will be a long slow process. The average healthy weight loss per week is only a pound or two. Don’t start down this path expecting ten pounds to drop every week. This is just not healthy

Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat as well. Those who start lifting weights or partaking in any muscle building exercise might actually see some weight gain. Take body measurements as this will more accurately tell you how well your weight loss goals are going.

These diet fads work best for your weight loss goals when you combine two or more of them together. Living a healthy life is a life change that doesn’t just happen over night. Start with one fad and work your way up.
