When you think of weight loss you often automatically assume exercise. Yet, there are ways to achieve your weight loss goals without ever stepping foot in a stinky gym. Here are a few ways to help shed some pounds without cranking up the B.O.
Portion control is easier than saying no
Why deny yourself of the good things in life? Sometimes you just have to splurge on those weight loss goals and enjoy some fine sweets. This is not the time to treat that sweet table during Thanksgiving as the all you can eat buffet line.
The golden key to smaller portions is water and time. Try having a sip of water between each bite of food. This may seem like a lot of work, but you will fill up with more liquid than you will calorie blown food.
The second part is to slow down. Enjoy each bit of food. Chances are you are not in a race to see who can clean their plate first. Start up a good conversation over that meal. Your internals will fill up while you’re lost in that conversation.
Kick fats and sugars to the curb
Fats are a funny thing on any weight loss diet. There are good fats and bad fats. Good fats come from nature in the form of nuts. The bad fats are what you want to stay away from on your exercise-les days. Your weight loss will only be hampered if you eat that whole bag of greasy chips and don’t run a marathon afterwards.
Sugars are also a bad idea if you are not going to climb a mountain. Sugars turn into fat when they are not burned off. Instead of a heaping scoop of sugar with your coffee, try using honey. Better yet, just drink that coffee straight.
Flavor that water naturally
The world is full of chemical concoction drinks. Soda is just one of these bottled chemical concoctions. Instead of reaching for a can of sugar, try reaching for some water.
Water is boring you say. Here is a simple tip to get that water rocking with some flavor; all while helping you stay on that weight loss path. Get a pitcher and fill it ¾ of the way with water. Next, cut up some fruit of your choice. Add the fruit to the water and let it sit over night. You now have naturally fruity flavored water.
Save the alcohol for a special night
A cold beer on a hot day might just hits the spot on a Friday night. This is well and fine, but having a beer, every night will put a serious damper on that weight loss progress. This is only compounded if you did not exercise. Save those empty calories for a special night, and then use your skills in portion control to limit how much you drink.
Exercise is still a very important part to any weight loss lifestyle. Sometimes there just is not enough time to run forty miles. These tips will help you meet those weight loss goals in these busy times.
